This is my entry for the western skin contest~
I tried to be original and made a little native american girl skin
because. cowboys and indians. lol.

anyways, i hope you like the skin and story and stuff.
When you first think of a hero
your mind automatically goes to a maybe tall and strong character,
with amazing powers or strength, loved and cherished by almost everyone,
willing to risk anything, is daring, and bold.
But not in this case.
Our story takes us down by the small town of Diddilan by the Mississippi River.
The people there, were sort of friendly.
Well, to their own people that is. They didn't accept outsiders, they would scare them off
and make them leave Diddilan.
There was one group that pestered the town, and the town absolutely despised them.
The Cobalt Tribe. Or the "Indians", as the locals called them.
The chief of Diddilan was sick and tired of the tribe freeing their horses and stealing their animals
and their crops. So, he decided to build a tall wooden wall around the town. Which he did. He made all
of the residents to work for him, building the barrier.
Since the town was only small, it only took a few weeks to construct.
And for a while, the wall worked. It kept the Cobalt Tribe out for a while.
Well. That's what they thought.
A family in the tribe, a lady named Nima, the chief named Akila, and their only daughter Rukiah.
Rukiah was heir to lead the tribe in years to come, so the tribe protected her and wouldn't let them join them while they freed the
poor animals' souls, gathering crops and such, by climbing through a small hole they
dug into the earth under the barrier.
At night, Rukiah often went there anyways. Not to take anything, but to sit with the horses and stare into the
desert sky with them.
The tribe had something like a morse code. They mimic koyotes' laugh-like chatter and howls,
meaning different things. One long howl means to "come back". Rukiah heard the faint howling
and scattered back to the tribe, well, she was going to. She climbed out of the little hole beneath the barrier to find one of the
younger tribe members waiting there. "Whatcha doin'?" he asked her, but she told him to go home and held his hand, but
he refused and let go, running to the hole and climbed through it and ran to a small pony and pet it.
Rukiah freaked and howled for him to come back but he didn't listen. He should have.
A poor scrawny boy who looked after the horses was bringing them water for the night, but as he
spotted the little tribe member he called out to the older gentlemen who slept in the farmhouse;
"Indian! Cobalt Tribe people!".
They rushed out and grabbed the boy, with Rukiah not knowing what to do, she stood there and watched
them grabbing him and hurting him.
The men dragged the boy to the farmhouse and Rukiah called out a laugh-like chatter to the boy, and it meant "I'm coming".
She was unsure what to do though, and only called it out to calm him down.
A little while passed and the men came out with him, and tied him to a stake in a fenced area where they
tame wild horses. He had no food, he had no water. He had nothing. Until Rukiah called out to him again,
the same howl as last time. He called back but the men copped on as to what was going on.
"They're communicating" "Look for them".
Some men left and looked for her, but she crawled under the hole and hid in the shadows of the
farmland until they left the boy alone. She got to him, but realized she needed something to cut the rope with.
Another yelp from behind the wall, and a small knife was thrown over and landed in the dirt
with the handle facing up. She grabbed onto it and cut the rope, grabbing the boy by the hand
and ran, laughing and howling. Climbing under the hole and sprinting through the desert meeting up
with the rest of the tribe.
The stablemen weren't sure how the boy escaped or who helped him, but their only
clue was the howl of the little cherokee girl.
Oof! that was long lol.
The story is about being a hero, weather you did something incredible or something small that
really makes a difference, even if you're disliked by a crowd, you can still do something amazing for someone.
Like in the story, you might even save someones life.
