As it is International Women's day, I decided to focus on
Geisha, - female Japanese entertainers who performed ancient traditions
such as art, singing and dance.
According to Liza Dalby and Wikipedia
After Japan lost the war, geisha dispersed and the profession was in shambles.
When they regrouped during the Occupation and began to flourish in the 1960's
during Japan's postwar economic boom, the geisha world changed.
In modern Japan, girls are not sold into indentured service. Nowadays, a geisha's sex life is her private affair.
Honestly, the history of Geisha isn't exactly a very positive image of women and many wouldn't look at it as a very progressive form of art, however I find the Kimonos, Makeup and the subtle details within the artistic expression to be very beautiful, I feel as though it is something to take into account
with this skin, I tried to take the best parts about the fashion or expression and incorporate them into something beautiful, which I feel has made it successful.
