Hello Everyone!
Today I will be telling you the story of Forthwind (Yes that is a real name xD)
It is the year 1627, the year when Icarus died. Forthwind is the son of Icarus's brother, and was born the day Icaus died. His father told him all about Icarus, and how he flew through the sky, and the mistakes he made. Forthwind was told this story at the age of 10, and was determined to fly higher then Icarus and succeed where he had failed. So he began collecting feathers. When he finally had enough, he had to find something to hold them together. He knew he could not use wax, so he began experimenting with different materials. After 2 whole years of collecting materials and testing different combinations, he had finally made a liquid that was sticky and when dry very hard. This was an early form of glue. He put together all the feathers he had gathered.
When the wings were finally completed he was 19. He was ready to test them, he went to the highest mountain he could find and tested to see if they could fly by throwing them as hard as he could. It was a success, the wings glided across the sky. He was now ready to test them with weight, so he attched a rock to it and they still glided fine. He was finally ready to fly. He attached the wings firmly and jumped off the mountain. I was a success and he flew accross the sky. He was not amused with this. He wanted to fly higher. So he left his family to go and find a higher mountain and higher places to fly. He was gone for many years and his family was worried. They never went out to find him, and they believe he died trying to find a place to fly. In the end, he was just like his uncle and failed.
