"Hello my friend. Stay awhile and listen..."

Deckard Cain, also known as Cain the Elder, is the last living human in the line of Horadric mages. Appearing in all of the Diablo games, Cain provides the player with valuable advice for many quests, and just so happens to know exactly what sorts of enchantments are placed on all those mysterious items found along your journeys at a glance.

Needs more contrast, and saturation. And more bright highlights. But I know, that's just your style :D

Would be cool if you try out some new techniques like .. working with a palette, or something like that. Anyway, i'm glad to see you in the reel again!

I'm not a huge fan of the super high saturation, deep shadows look. It doesn't suit the game textures or shaders well, nor is it fitting for the characters I typically do. Makes things look cartoony in what is otherwise a rather subdued game.

Yeah, alright. It was just a suggestion :P Well, .. maybe you could try to improve your colors. Dark colors goes to Purple, bright colors to yellow, if you catch the meaning. It looks more realistic. (that's how I learned it).

Just saying.

90% of the time, I draw my color ranges directly from source material with a color-picker tool before starting. Sometimes I paint directly with those, other times I end up using one of the many templates I've set up along the way for repetitive elements, using cont/hue/sat filters and then cleaning up with burn/dodge/smudge.

The difference is that you're setting out to make skins that look like game sprites, and I'm not. I prefer the smooth shadowed, subtle highlights look.

Sounds interesting. Anyway, everyone has a different method to shade skins. :D
