The character is fictional, but set to be realistic, as per the contest rules.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sir Darginaaz was a knight of great honor and mettle, fighting with King Richard in the Crusades from the beginning to the end, always following his liege loyally and without question or hesitation. His armor was hand-crafted by his brother, a chain underlay with thin iron pad-plates attached away from joints. This armor weighed considerably less than full plate armor, allowing Sir Darginaaz to be much swifter with his movements, and his blade and shield, making him a deadly opponent on the battlefield. His family's crest is engraved in the chestplate, ornamented in hand-moulded glass. There is a chain coif hood attached to the back iron plate, easily pulled up to cover all but the face for additional protection for his head.
