None of the women cried. It was not the Viking way. The men slammed their axes on their shields, the children watched with interest. Slowly yet surely, Bryngar hefted his war axe across his shoulder as he moved towards his ship. A cold wind blew in from the south, a good omen. The gods were watching him. It was his lineage, his heritage that dictated he took this journey. A journey to the frozen lands of the north, the ever-sleeping plains of the Arctic. It was his duty to undertake the challenge. He would slay the beast and return triumphant bearing its skull, or he would perish and die a glorious death battling the monster of ancient. His ancestors looked upon him from Valhalla.

This is my entry for the newest PMC skin contest. It is a Viking warrior travelling to the Arctic to battle monsters as a test of his prowess in battle. Will he succeed or perish on the ice?
