Artemis, the Greek goddess of chaste women (virgins), the Hunt, forests and hills, the Moon, and the sport of archery. She was one of many children of Zeus, the chief god of the Greeks, and the sister of the Greek god Apollo, the god of the Sun, music, poetry, art, oracles, plague, medicine, light, knowledge, and archery as well. Her Roman counterpart is Diana.
