Andronikos (Ἀνδρόνικος) III Palaiologos (Παλαιολόγος) was a Byzantine and Eastern Roman emperor of the late 13th and early 14th centuries. He overthrew Andronikos II, his grandfather, and assumed the throne. He had varying successes against the Turks, losing at the Battles of Rusokastro and Pelekanon, but succeeded in reclaiming some territory, including Chios, Lesbos, Phokaia, Thessaly, and Epeiros.
