I still can't believe the rebels won with the empire having ships all around the galaxy, and a ton of them around the Death Star. It makes no sense.

It does actually, the Rebels got Mon Calamari star cruisers. And, like you said, the Empire has ships all around the galaxy. When the Rebels attacked the second Death Star, they attacked with their whole fleet. And last, the Empire doesn't learn from their mistakes, they had three super weapons (including Starkiller base) and everyone contained a hole that led directly to a critical system that, when hit, destroyed the planet/base. So it does make sense actually. The good guys win, always.

When you say they attacked with their whole fleet, do you refer to the rebels? If so, then the empire would still have ships all over the galaxy, and I do understand that the people running the organisations have multiple scehloris, but how on earth (or should I say universe?) would, the empire fall because their vanity project failed?
