The USS Knight ASC-1 is the fist vessel of her kind. She was first created by Virginia Tech students in 2003, see here. She is named after four star admiral Austin M. Knight who served from 1873 to 1918. He wrote a textbook on Modern Semanship that was stardard issue for over eight decades.
She is armed with two BAE Systems 57mm MK11o naval guns fore and aft. It contains a MK50 vertical launch system and is capable of caring 30 SSM or SAM missles. Its deffencive counter measures includes two RIM-116B Rolling Airframe Missles and two Phalanx CIWS systems.
It Carries two SH-60 SeaHawk helicopters as well as two 7-meter RHIB watercraft. She has a complement of 30 officers and 320 inlested men.
