Why are there more bathrooms than bedrooms?

One on the main floor, and one for each bedroom. There are supposed to be 4 bedrooms, but I furnished one of them as a home office and decided not to call it a bedroom. From what I have seen, it's pretty common for bathrooms to outnumber bedrooms, especially in fancier houses (plus, they fill small areas quite conveniently).
