Hey everyone!
Sometimes I stumble upon a word that helps me put the ship into character. Well I have a background story for you AND a new name for it :D
The raging sun beat down upon the working crew of the HMS Emprise. They were not even blessed with a cool breeze throughout the whole day. "I am surprised that this large body of water has not even evaporated," the captain said. "I don't think Minecraft physics would allow it, sir," the First Mate remarked. The crew had to continue to manually paddle the ship through the still waters of the Golden Sea. It was her maiden voyage - the trip was supposed to be easy. Delivering a message from the final outpost to the capital city was one boat ride away. Drops of sweat dripped off of sailors like drops of blood in a deep wound. They were running out of fresh water to drink. But this had to be done - for the sake of Minecraftia.
As the air became dreadfully humid, clouds began to form at the very edge of the "Extreme" render distance. The man atop the Crow's Nest was using Optifine. Luckily, he could "zoom" in to see faraway things. He yelled, "Storm ahead, mates!"
The captain did not even have to give any orders. All the sailors knew that the storm is a result of the humidity.
"Alright men, we are literally 1000 blocks from shore. If we survive this storm, we'll be home free," the captain said with some hope. Not one bar of hunger was wasted - everybody got ready for the storm. Due to the Moody brightness setting, it was already pitch black when the first wave tackled the side of the HMS Emprise. The wind picked up and started launching the shop too and fro. (Just like the way some blocks bug in the UgoCraft mod). The gunports were closed and the sailors used buckets to empty the boat of water.
The storm lasted throughout the whole night and the sailors were running out of energy to continue emptying the ship of water. "I knew I shouldn't have installed the Thirst Mod," said the First Mate. Just as he said this, the ship was hit by the largest wave seen all night - it caused all the sailors' Minecraft clients to crash.
As soon as everybody joined the server again, they found that all of their food and water had been washed away. With just the main sail left, the crew of the HMS Empire made it through the night. Some sailors were already losing hearts due to dehydration as they were pulling into the capital city of Minecraftia. The captain leaped off of the ship and sprinted all the way to the King's throne room to deliver the important message.
The captain had just enough energy to press "Q" just before he died of dehydration. Because of his sacrifice, the King of Minecraftia was able to successfully ambush the Netherians and reclaim their territory in the Overworld.
The King renamed the R.M.S. Eratheon to the H.M.S. Emprise after the adventurous enterprise that was undertaken by the crew of the ship. The H.M.S. Emprise is now working personally for the King to deliver important messages and cargo around the Golden Sea.
New with 1.3.1
- You can shoot through the small "windows" in the sides of the ship.
- This is because the stair hitboxes have been fixed appropriately.
I was learning how to build ships - I think they can be confusing at times. This is the result of my very first finished ship. In case you didn't know, H.M.S. stands for "His/Her Majesty's Ship."
If you were wondering, this took me about 2 hours to complete.
I think this ship would go well with the Zeppelin Mod. You can transport all your stuff across your Singleplayer world :
Again, you can use this wherever you like, just give me credit where it is due.
Features:
Texture Pack: Summerfields Texture Pack
Mod: Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders
