Bonjour! Voici l'avancée sur mon projet de reconstruction de la cathédrale de Strasbourg à travers les âges!
En 1275, la démolition des deux tours romanes ainsi que le portail ouest va marquer le début des grands travaux, visant à moderniser et à agrandir la cathédrale. Le style gothique permettant une meilleure stabilité de l’édifice va pousser les architectes à construire de plus en plus haut. Tel est l’objectif de la cathédrale de Strasbourg. Le massif occidental est créé selon les plans du maître d'œuvre Erwin. Trois portails sont créés, et au centre du premier étage, la grande rosace impressionne de par ses 13m de diamètre, une des plus grandes d’Europe.
C’est probablement aussi, en 1320 que la tour de la croisée du transept sera modifiée et dotée d’une nouvelle coiffe.
Hello! Here is the progress on my project of reconstruction of the cathedral of Strasbourg through the ages!
In 1275, the demolition of the two Romanesque towers as well as the west portal will mark the beginning of the great works, aiming to modernize and enlarge the cathedral. The gothic style allowing a better stability of the building will push the architects to build higher and higher. This is the objective of the cathedral of Strasbourg. The western massif is created according to the plans of the master builder Erwin. Three portals are created, and in the center of the second floor, the large rose window impresses with its 13m diameter, one of the largest in Europe.
It was probably also in 1320 that the tower of the transept crossing was modified and provided with a new cap.
