Aim is to build a realistic representation of a typical German coalmining town during the 20th Century.
Most interiors will be modelled to a fair level of detail. Buildings will be connected to a central power grit supplying electricity for lighting. Industrial buildings will be equipped with automatic localised firealarms as well as a central alarm connected to all buildings.
The list below has the current list of buildings on it which will be part of the first version of this map. Later versions may include things such as Steel works, Coke Plants
The town will eventually feature:

  • Large Coal Mine Complex based on a number of real coalmines in and around my hometown
  • Firestation
  • Railyard
  • Workers houses
  • Trainstation
  • Shops
  • Pub / Unionhouse

Mods currently used:
  • Railcraft
  • Buildcraft
  • Electric Age
  • Road Stuff
  • Dynamic Transport

Credit for starting point goes to Snackman, please check out his Winding Tower of the Shime coal mine.
I may make a vanilla version or slightly less modded version of this map depending on demand, however this maybe less detailed and wont look as good.

Update #5 : by The_lonely_duckling 11/02/2016 7:18:09 pmNov 2nd, 2016

Minor Changes

Removed Mods:
  • Immersive Engineering

Removed previously announced group of buildings (Update #4: Added 3 new interconnected "Old style" buildings.), however some parts of the buildings been retained as schematics and may be added in later if appropriate

Major Changes

All buildings that are currently in progress have been modified in some way. Some buildings have been changed significantly, whilst others have only been tweaked slightly. There are also a number of newly finished buildings.

Buildings that have been changed:

Pithead 2 and old mine buildings have had an extensive remodelling of their exterior. They now look much more like the buildings they are based off and fitting for the time period. They are also much more detailed.

The coal wash has had an external staircase and entrance added.

The building which is currently known as "Shaft 1 pithead" has been altered externally so it looks much more like its real life counter part. An elevator has been added to the inside.

Some slight changes were made to
the Doubleframe Pithead 3/5

The Machinehouse for Shaft 2 and 6 is now finished

New Buildings:

Several types of workers houses have been added including small miners houses (2 families), large miners houses (2 families) as well as larger townhouses (up to 5 families)

    Good thing,
I have 1 question, Rails of war has free positioning of railway or not? Just don't remember from time, when i used this mod for testing...

Not quite sure what you mean by free positioning. What I can say for sure is that it is sometimes quite tricky to work with as a lot of the parts come as very large premade structures

I mean can this rails be placed at any shape, or only templates with fixed angles.

Unfortunately they are limited to fixed angles. However the amount of variation is quite high so you can build most things the way you'd imagine

I'm actually thinking of switching to RTM to get around some compatibility issues
