This is the first component of the PoweredCube project created in 2013. It is a redstone-based keyboard for a personal computer with its own character encoding called CSCII - Cube Standard Code for Information Interchange. How original I was... :-)
Note that there is a difference between keyboard scancodes (signals sent directly from keyboards) and character encoding in real life. In this case, however, they are equal and hence this keyboard sends signals directly encoded in CSCII as shown below in the table of keyboard character codes.

this is most likely because of the 1.10.0 update to minecraft that added Quasi Connectivity... meaning that if you use your computer now in the latest version of minecraft, you will run into this error... you or someone else will need to outfit it for 1.15.1
this is an unfortunate happening... but it is minecraft... sadly, :(
But I must admit that I had to remaster some projects to work in the current versions as intended before publishing them here. The most notable was 3bit Calculator as there were issues with pistons that seemed to be in a "very interesting" state - maybe it is connected to the quasi connectivity that you have mentioned.
Nevertheless, as time went on, I was getting rid of pistons. And projects you are talking about, the keyboard and the computer, are piston-free and working for me even on recent versions of Minecraft.
whileist I would like to ask if you could put the ORIGINAL created version file up for download or I will have to recreate the whole thing by hand... :( sorry for the inconvenience...
Just for you - almost untouched map file: http://leteckaposta.cz/839251382. I hope you can open 7z archive. WinRAR should be powerful enough for that on Windows, but I don't know because I am using Linux...
Have fun! :-))
But I have seemed to have built just now... a QWERTY keyboard!!!
but I'm sure that link will be useful for anyone else who needs it...
+1 DIAMOND
can't wait to see the real thing!!!
I am completely FINE with you and anybody using any of my projects in your and their projects. You do not even have to state me as an author but I would be happy if you do... :-))
I wish you good luck!
