Orion's Chase
Hey guys! I'm sorry for such a long wait for another submission, but here we are with another post, this time a "sci - fi" themed project for the, "TO THE STARS" building competition! As a side - note, I believe all my projects and other posts will have long time gaps in - between them, except for SKINS.
Anyways, this is a spaceship built specially for Steve's needs and goals, so without further ado; the storyline.
As steve sat at his desk in the Captain's quarters, contemplating the pocket - sized sheet of paper that was so insignificant he could have thrown it away yet so important he treasured it above all his diamonds. After all, it was what so many diamonds had come to be.
The piece of paper contained the deed to his recently - built spaceship. Maybe not a work of art, he supposed, but effective nonetheless.
This particular ship carried four side - turrets, a main turret in the front (mostly for exceptionally evasive targets) with a cockpit as well for manual usage, a watchtower with only one entrance which was the small docking area behind (built small because it was meant to be used only for unmanned exploration aircraft and extremely tiny ships that could only bring a single person. In this case; Steve.) And finally, four large thrusters used for intensely long space travel.
To top it off, Steve had named it the "Orion's Chase", as they were an exploration crew, looking for something they didn't know of and could be as much a threat as it was marvelous. Therefore in relation to the constellation Orion, whose path is always either chasing the Scorpion, or being chased by it himself.
But just as Steve was about to put it down, a shockwave shook the entire spacecraft, sending Steve toppling to the floor. He quickly got up and turned on his speaker. "Navigator! What in the world is going on?" He boomed. Fortunately the navigator replied just as quickly.
"Sir, the ship is completely fine, that was just the sound of a..." Steve didn't need him to end the sentence. He had gone out to see out of the window, and what he saw horrified him. A gigantic meteor had breached Minecraftia's atmosphere, and with all the redstone harvested by Steve in order to build the ship, Minecraftia had no warning system. It was devastating.
