Hello everyone!
I want to share with you my current Minecraft project: The RMS Titanic!
I've built two versions before this one, and this one is the ultimate improvement upon the previous two. WorldEdit has been used to the highest degree while constructing this.
I've been building this on occasion, not spent time every single day, and thus it's been in the making for a year now.
I've currently built all decks down to G Deck, and G Deck itself is almost done too. Only some minor work is to be done in the stern at that deck level, then I'm continuing on to build the Orlop Deck, progressing down deck by deck through the ship. I have put some boilers in already, but these might be oversized and they are thus possibly not the final product.
No furniture, beds or other specific details have been added yet (some exceptions can be found, such as item frames with details in them and the steering wheel with telegraphs on the bridge), I intend to add interior details when all decks have been built. Also, some 1st Class cabins do not have their correct interior fittings nor colors yet, as I intend to fix this when I go through the ship adding the furnitures, etc.
Some of my loyal members on my server have lended me a helping hand many times, by building/raising walls, filling in floors, putting windows, doors, etc. I've been personally 100% responsible for the layout and interior detail of the ship plus the lighting throughout, and the choice of colors used (which are accurate per books "Titanic: The Ship Magnificent" Vol 1 & 2).
Two highly profiled Titanic builders have also visited my server on occasion and have contributed with feedback and a helping hand during the construction. These two are most recently known as The Titanic Inspectors; Deadkoalas and ZBLDS (IGN: BDeNicola).
I hope you like my project, as I've spent many hours striving to represent the historically most accurate replica of the RMS Titanic in Minecraft! My ultimate goal is to to give people the experience of what this ship truly looked like, in the Minecraft universe!
There is no download at this time, and I've not decided whether I will add one or not later. I've not decided on a schematic file either. This decision depends on many factors - so please don't beg for a download or schematic file. The ship can be visited on my server, which is practically always online.
Server IP: aiwa.mine.nu
The world it's in is custom made by engine generation: 1 block of bedrock, 3 blocks of dirt, 45 blocks of water.
--------------------------------------------
Abandoned, due to data loss during server migration after hardware upgrade. Restarted a 4th version, project to be posted at a later time.

Additional Notes
The reason for using diamond, glowstone and gold blocks is because it is my own developed construction method, which makes hull shaping a lot easier, as well as building each deck. They are keyed colors, which I can easily replace with WorldEdit. There is no download at this time, and I've not decided whether I will add one or not later. I've not decided on a schematic file either. This decision depends on many factors - so please don't beg for a download or schematic file. You really have the colours spot on! And the shape is awesome! Great job man, keep it up :)

The color coding makes more sense if you check out the screenshots I attached to the project, especially the night time shots, where the hull shape is still very visible and it makes life easier when editing the shape, not having to fight the shadow of the overhanging structure. But it also makes much sense when building inside, as both gold blocks and diamond blocks are still very visible even in places with no light - plus, their texture makes them easy to count manually, even from a distance. This is very handy when taking measurements for example.
And thank you for the tip! That is pretty much what I am doing when I create rooms or portions that are repetitive. ;-) It saves a lot of time!
By the way, if you don't like building at night you should try an Optifine mod where you can control the time and even keep it day all the time if you want. I use this beautiful optifine/shaders combo which is described in detail here:
