Kertek
City of Despair
City of Despair
Explore!
A massive city abandoned by the civilization that built it, as if the population was consumed all at once by some unholy power!
Scavenge!
Chests of resources are scattered throughout the city, containing everything from materials to create tools and armor, to food, to treasures and gems!
Survive!
Undead aberrations and creeping fiends lurk in the darkness looking to make you a permanent resident of their city, if starvation and the puzzles of the city don't kill you first!

Fight!
Twists and turns and metal doors will block your path, and evil creatures will destroy you, but clever thinking, a powerful arsenal, and an indomitable mettle, will lead to your heroic escape from the city!

This is a world that I've been tinkering with for nearly three years. Originally wanted to just make buildings and castles while I watched movies and shows, and soon began trying to recreate Lordran from Dark Souls (poorly), and ended up just making my own thing. My intentions kept changing the more I worked on it, from exploration, to trying out architectural ideas, at one point it was going to be a giant combat zone for folks and their friends to work with, and eventually settling on a challenge and adventure world.
I have a handful of different themes and systems going on, such as collectible weapon and armor sets, an End Portal that needs Eyes of Ender, lots of levers for progression into other areas, secret spots, chests with loot and food, scattered books with accounts of those who have braved Kertek's thoroughfare before you, monster spawners, and what I hope comes across as an overlaying veneer of eerie history. The overall goal is fairly straightforward: escape from the city. Don't die too much. Scavenge for food, or eat zombies. Don't talk to the witches.
So after a few years and very little change with the whole thing I've decided to upload it as 100% complete. There's probably plenty of bugs and goofs, and I may get around to putting out some more updates but overall I'm rather fond of this map, and I want to just share it and call it a day. So here! Have a blast!
This world requires the latest version of Minecraft (1.13.2 as of this writing).
Please let me know, also, if you're using this in a video or any other work. You have permission, but I'd like to know, mostly to watch someone else play to see what could be improved and that sort of thing.
If you do feel inclined to start passing this around, make sure you tell your friends that it's not freaking done so they'll come back for more later. Please don't steal and all that. Thanks! ♥♥

5 Update Logs
Update #6 and probably final : by PRANC-E-TRON 03/26/2019 1:36:45 pmMar 26th, 2019
I honestly don't know what I've changed in the 3 years since my last update. Tons of little things, mostly.
I'm pretty much done keeping a record of what I change within Kertek so this will be the final log. I love you. Hope you like the map.
