This is a recreation of The Insane Asylum of the State of Louisiana in Minecraft. This asylum was built in 1847, and it was built in the Greek Revival style, so it would not look like a prison. The original structure was built to house 250 patients, but eventually it housed over 1,000 patients. This building was built prior to asylums being built according to the Kirkbride plan. It is one of the only remaining asylums open today. It is currently used as a mental hospital for criminals unfit to stand trial. Normal civilians can indeed admit themselves to the hospital today. Hospital itself is over 170 years old, though only the center main building remains of the original structure remains. The map that is in the photos, is from 1926, and many of the buildings in the map were not original to the property in 1847. Anyway, if I have anymore info I will post it here.
