Hello and thank you for your interest in my Minecraft rendition of the classic D&D adventure module B1 In Search of the Unknown! I have tried to recreate it as accurately as possible in the original form so that future generations can enjoy these classics that inspired me with adventuring wonder when I was a kid. If I get feedback of people actually liking what I am making here, my idea is to keep going and recreate many more adventure modules, and perhaps even build Mystara the D&D game world in which these are set. Please feel free to contact me with ideas, criticisms or praise. I make no claim to be a master builder in Minecraft and am always seeking to improve.

HOW TO PLAY

You can do whatever you want with this copy of the dungeon of course, but if you want to recreate what it is like to play Dungeons and Dragons in a Minecraft format, I would like to suggest some rules of play. The game begins in creative mode so you should switch to survival mode when ready.

First of all, no mining is allowed! You must live within the confines of the dungeon and face its monsters, traps and other dangers on its own merit. No sleeping, your main form of healing should be healing and potions. A chest of equipment for two is located at the front of the dungeon at the spawn point. You must limit yourself to this equipment and not /give yourself anything more, but you can find many things in the dungeon to aid your quest. In the equipment chest you will find a stack of wool. Imagine this is a coil of strong rope which you can use to lift or lower yourself where you please, but you cannot use any other block in this way. I am still working on ways to keep mobs located in particular areas
rather than wondering around wherever, and to help with this, I have used carpets and pits to limit movement of mobs. I have placed them in excess so its hard for the adventurer to tell if there is a hostile mob ahead or not, but try to ignore them and imagine they are floor mats and carpets! They will never hide traps. Don't forget to look for secret doors triggered by levers and buttons, and hidden passageways!

When you are finished with the adventure, record what you collected, and with the next adventure I will post how to buy better equipment with your loot before going on your next foray! I intend to have each adventure lead to the next so you can build your character's equipment.

Good luck!

Sorry folks, when I first listed this I thought I uploaded the file but I just noticed it did not work due to size. I have fixed the situation and now you can download and play. Have fun!
