Custom modern frigate, based on Oliver Hazard Perry Class. Modern redesign/upgraded version of UHP. The five ships in the class are named for Southeast United States Native American tribes. The lead ship is USS Cherokee, followed by USS Seminole, USS Muscogee, USS Chickasaw and USS Choctaw. The first ship was commissioned in 2014 and they serve similar roles to their predecessors as well as fulfilling LCS duties when Freedom or Independence Class ships are unavailable.
