BTR-4 "Bucephalus" is an all-wheel drive eight-wheel APC with an 8×8 wheel formula, developed in Ukraine by the Kharkiv Design Bureau of Machine-Building (SE KhKBM), manufactured at the Malyshev plant.
BTR-4 is designed for the transportation of mechanized units and fire support in battle. APCs are used to equip units capable of conducting combat operations in various conditions, in particular, in conditions of the enemy`s use of weapons of mass destruction. An armored personnel carrier can be a basic vehicle for equipping special rapid response units and marines. BTR-4 can perform tasks 24 hours a day, in different climatic conditions, on roads with different surfaces and in completely off-road conditions. The range of operating air temperatures is from −40 to +55 °C.
