No, you just need to create one row, then use mcedit to literally copy and paste the commandblocks.
commandblocks can change the block relating to its own position.
for example: setblock dirt ~0 ~0 ~3 will spawn a block of dirt 3 blocks above the command block

so you just need to shift every new frame a block to the right.
