Frikinzi's Fauna (for 1.12.2 and 1.16.5) adds a variety of birds and fish to Minecraft that are not usually found in other animal mods. You can find these animals in a variety of biomes, and tame and breed a lot of them.

- Fish can now breed! have 2 fish close to each other and feed one of them their food item, and they will spawn some roe that will hatch
- Fish can be fed by either hand feeding, or throwing the appropriate food in water. Feeding also restores their health
- Doves have a new model and 9 new variants/species represented
Other new things
- Birds have a 5% chance of spawning as a baby
- Some birds will defend nearby offspring and eggs if an animal gets too close
- Female birds stay close to the eggs they laid.
- Thanks to discord user mash1133, the mod has a Japanese translation up to 1.4.0 content
- the mod will yell at you if you didn’t install geckolib
- Many fish run away from you now
- Some birds have flock behavior now
- Tropical fish like blue tang now drop the tropical fish item, giving them some use
- raw bird meat is now classified as meat in Minecraft, meaning that wolves can now eat these meats
- Lovebirds do not take damage from cacti (alluding to the fact that they nest in them)
- Some basic advancements related to the mod are added

- Fixed issue where you can’t turn off spawning of certain animals in the config

- Sparrows now have biome-dependent variants
- fixed graphical glitch on dottyback where one side of the tail doesn’t render
- grounded birds fall slower, like chickens
- Crabs have genders
- fixed low saturation values for cooked food
- fixed baby skuas having glitchy flying texture
- fixed tamed birds sleeping while following
- Readjusted a lot of hit boxes
- roller flying texture not glitchy anymore
