Weaponized Autonomous Defense Engagement System, or WADES for short, is an organically operated cybernetic robotics combat machine.
Or, it was...these devices are controlled by a sentient organic brain from a human being along with eyes still intact, the brain is submerged inside a plexiglass cube of a type of formaldehyde that preserves the organs without stiffening nor rotting the intact systems.
Now, being that this unit is used via a real living brain, it still feels emotions and has thoughts and can speak, and still needs to eat as well via the tube connector that acts as the mouth to the plexiglass box. For a time, this operation of brains and machine made far superior soldiers than a full human. They couldn't feel pain, were injected with a chemical to reserve doubt and fear, and equipped with robotic systems they hardly missed their shots, can calculate distances and speed, and could detect threats and more efficient routes.
But, the biggest flaw these machines have was what made them superior, their brain. Some of these brains were forced into being a combat machine after their human death, not being given a proper burial and final rest made the sentient brains confused and angry, and being confused and angry while equipped with a 40mm cannon and Electromagnetic pincer arms are not a ideal combination.
To make a story short, the machines rivaled against their military and government, and waged war on their once human kind, of course the soldier ratio and other means of equipment compared to the robotics was uneven, and they eventually lost.
Despite the machines losing, they still left hundreds of casualties both military and civilian in their wake, and the production of these cybernetics were soon decommissioned.
It was fortunate that the production was halted, due to the fact that there were ideas of programming the same brains into more advanced and lethal robotic systems that had even more fire power than before....
Once the machines were gutted of their brains and lethal weaponry, scrappers in snowy environments have been programming the brains of their friends and loved ones into these cybernetics, the cannon now being used as a snow ball launcher for fun and to fend off hostile creatures.
Are you willing to establish these machines for your own gain? Despite the torment they must bear, forever living disembodied inside a metallic prison of formaldehyde, never able to physically feel or taste again...?
