I guess I don't really use this site much anymore, real life is taking up some attention and I feel I've said all I want to say with my stuff for the most part, one thing is though if you're among the 11 people who subbed to me on youtube you've got to check out my brother's channel since he actually posts things on it: www.youtube.com/@usedtobekrampus9776/featured

The reason there are 12 hours between sunrise and sunset on an equinox out of 24 in a day is because four of our fingers have 12 segments in total, with the thumb as a natural pointer. The hours are divided as minutes and seconds into concentric units of 60 because your other hand can be used to count the sets of 12 you've made. This was the basis of counting in ancient Sumer, home of an accountant named Kushim, who is the earliest Human whose name has survived in written form through the ages. Kushim and his co-workers living in 3300 B.C. would have probably been annoyed about the extra 5.25 days in the year, which keep them from equaling 60 * 6, which is 360. (24 * 12) + (60 * 12) + (360 * 12) = 5328, which is about how many years Kushim lived before Epstein didn't kill himself.

In the region of Russia's Republic of Karelia formerly owned by Finland, near Lake Eldanka, are 2 hills named in Finnish Muna and Makkara, literally 'egg' and 'sausage'.

The origin of apples is interesting: They started out in Kazakhstan, a country plenty of people have never heard of, and went on to become (currently) the fourth most popular fruit in the world.

    True story:
Hermitcraft borrowed the idea of fighting with end crystals from 2b2t.
So some 2b2t players borrowed the idea of knowing what the Hermitcraft IP address is.

Its whitelisted for this exact reason, and Hermitcraft can change the IP so the exploiters' can't share it, but I don't think anything besides needing to reinstall Minecraft will forcibly take the server out of the exploiters' server lists.

Some 2b2t exploiters made a Minecraft bot that searches java edition server ports for potential griefing targets and logs the IP address. Turns out they found the actual Hermitcraft IP. (I don't condone this practice, everyone who owns a Java server, please make world backups and maybe whitelist it too.)

I got bought another Minecraft account named Qebehsenuef so that's pretty nifty I would say. It's named after the falcon-headed Egyptian god of the west, the intestines, and protection, maybe you've seen him on canopic jars like this:

So a few weeks ago I joined Duolingo to improve my very shoddy Finnish and it's actually been pretty fun so far. I've learned about 200 words I didn't know before and maybe I can get a foothold in some Finnish learning discord servers now.

The grammar is hard to get used to but at least it makes sense, and pronunciation is pretty easy for the most part. The disconnected vocabulary is the hardest thing when you start, but some studies have found that overall its difficulty is extreme only by european standards. Chinese and Arabic are a lot harder all things considered.

Today I learned that the last large landmass to be discovered was Berkner Island Antarctica, which is about the size of Poland and was unknown until 1944 because it is surrounded by the 500 foot thick Ronne Ice Shelf year round.

Is it just me or does cubical.xyz just not show block textures on mac? I have schematics to work with but all the blocks are invisible for some reason, even though the bottom bar says the names of blocks you are looking at. Very weird.

The name given to sweet berries implies that glow berries aren't sweet.
And the fact that bioluminescence comes from the sulfur-based chemical luciferin adds some conformation to this.
(Sulfur tastes/smells awful if you didn't know. It gives rotten eggs their stink.)

I imagine that if a Minecraft Piglin could learn english, It’s accent would be simultaneously throaty like a Danish accent and somewhat squealing like some southern U.S. accents. Maybe it wouldn’t be like that at all but it’s interesting to wonder.
