I have a similar experience where my bed makes strange tapping noises when I move around, but will stop if I try to ignore it. And my bed doesn't touch the wall or anything that might cause a tapping noise.
My scariest experience was when I was about 9 or 10 and my Aunt bought me a stuffed panda bear for Christmas. I didn't particularly like the bear, so it mostly ended up on my bedroom floor, until one day when my mom picked it up and put it on my dresser. That night I had the scariest nightmare I've ever had in my entire life.
In the dream, I "woke up" and the bear turned its head and looked at me. It's face looked like a real bear, but it's eyes were red. Then it jumped off of the dresser and onto the floor. I woke up from the dream freaked out, but I knew it was just a dream. And to reassure myself I looked at the dresser. (I had a night-light then.) I screamed when I saw that the bear wasn't on the dresser, but on the floor. Of course my parents just figured that it was a nightmare and that the bear just happened to fall off during the night, so my mom put it back on the dresser, despite my protests. I didn't sleep very well for two days because all I did was stare at the bear. I eventually was able to sleep easily because the bear didn't do anything. But the experience was always there in the back of my mind.
When I turned 12 I threw the bear away.
