Hey everyone! Today I am bringing something a bit different! A contest!
To enter this contest you will have to make a pixel art, based on a theme, in the form of an image file! (NOT IN MINECRAFT!!!)
Rules:
1: For the most part, please limit yourself to about 50x50, although larger images will be accepted if they are still "Pixely" (This is to prevent large images, that aren't really pixel arts, just digital drawings )
2: Use an image file, preferably either jpeg or Png.
3: Make sure your art follows the theme
4: Please start from a plain image file, and don't just copy or recolour an existing pixel art.
5: The contest will end on the 31st, unless there aren't enough entries, in which case the end will be pushed back.
6: Try your best!
Prizes:
*If you want something other than a skin, just ask, and I can try *
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place all get a skin request and a badge dependant on which place you got (It will have your username on it)
All participants will also receive a badge.
I suggest using Paint.NET to make your pixel arts. Click the following link to be redirected to their website: http://www.getpaint.net/

This theme is very open, but should hopefully help inspire your creativity! You could make a elemental sprite, a powerful sorcerer or even a unicorn! Make sure your entry is at least somewhat related to the theme though, otherwise it could get disqualified!

I will be judging this contest, however I may select some other judges. If you really want to be a judge, please PM me on this website!

This is actually a great idea for a contest, are you gonna keep doing it? I mean, like this week's theme was magic. Then for the next week, you can use a theme like pokemon or something.

Lol xD I expected to get last place anyway, because it was my very FIRST attempt to draw pixel art. Thanks for the grading and I will hope to do a better job on a another pixel art contest :3

RESULTS
The time is finally here! Time to announce the winners!
The entries are judged in 3 categories, and then they are ordered from highest to lowest.
Concept: Marked out of 5. The idea of the art. You want to use a very original and unique idea for your art. This has nothing to do with the actual drawing, just the idea.
Aesthetics: Marked out of 10. How good it looks at a glance. You want to use nice colours that look good together, and make use of space etc.
Details: Marked out of 10. Small details that make it unique and look really nice.
TheSpectrumMiner: 17/25
Concept: 3/5 The concept isn't the most unique since when someone says magic, one of the first things you think of might be potions. You did do pretty well though, since the idea wasn't in the theme description. (coughturtlaxcough)
Aesthetics: 8/10 It looks very good, although it is quite simple. The colour scheme looks really nice too, with the light pinks! Great job!
Details: 6/10 The attention to using slightly different shades of pink was really nice, but there wasn't a lot of other things that made it unique, causing you to get a lower mark in this category.
Mr_cat_squid: 16/25
Concept: 1/5 Although the idea was good, you got a low score because it isn't very strongly related to the theme. It doesn't really make you think "magic", although it isn't far enough off to be disqualified.
Aethetics: 6/10 It does look good, although there are a few issues. The plant doesn't really look like it is affected by the lighting in the same way as the rest. The rest of the shading looks really nice though!
Details: 9/10 Your art had lots of details, like the cobwebs in the corner and the fading from pink to blue in the background, so you got a good mark in this section.
PaigeAngel: 8/25
Concept: 2/5 Making a fairy isn't the most creative idea, but making her different from usual fairies (the coat, the bird etc.) gave you a higher mark.
Aesthetics: 3/10 Your art lacked shading, looked quite rushed and imperfect, causing you to get a lower mark in this category.
Details: 3/5 I liked the inclusion of the bird in the corner, and the hearts coming out of the wand.
Turtlax: 20/25
Concept: 2/5 Making a unicorn isn't the most creative idea, especially since it was in the theme description.
Aesthetics: 9/10 Your pixel art looks really great! I like the back legs, the shine from the horn, and the colour theme. The light blue and white looks really nice!
Details: 9/10 I like that you made a gif, which no one else decided to do. The horse's form also looks perfect! I might have put in a bit of shading if I was to redo it, but it looks great, even without.
Shockinprint: 12/25
Concept: 3/5 I liked how you made 2 potions on a table instead of just 1 in the air, but potions aren't the most unique idea.
Aesthetics: 6/10 The potions look good, but the art is quite plain, and leaving the background as white looks a little lazy. (no offense) Also the potions are a bit lopsided, which looks a bit bad.
Details: 3/10 There aren't a lot of details in it that make it stand out, except that the potions are splashing to one side.
TerraformerYT: 14/25
Concept: 4/5 I like the idea of making a sorceror!
Aesthetics: 6/10 It looks pretty good, although it would have been beneficial to put a ground below the character. The background looked really good though!
Details: 4/10 There aren't really many details in the art.

Hmm... It's probably a bit too big, but if you want I can change the resolution. It would be the same, just more pixelated. (Not sure if MSpaint has a resize feature.)
