Collab tools to suggest?

I've become impressed with the capabilities of GitHub for collaborative work on mods. I'm interested in helping to port some of my favorite mods from 1.7.10 to 1.12.2, but I'm still digesting Java tutorials. Meanwhile, I'd like to help with texture packs. Does anyone know of resources that would be useful in a collaborative effort on a texturepack?

Specifically, does anyone know of a checklist for textures needed for each Minecraft release? along the lines of this that I started.
I simply looked thru the Minecraft wiki for changelogs listing which blocks were added with each release.

Also, is there a world/map download with blocks already laid out for showcasing textures?

If all texture artists are making their own stacks for lack of sharing by other texture artists, that's a shame I'd like to remedy. Such a layout might be useful for testing/comparing shaders, too.

Google Drive is my go-to for sharing files. Individuals can edit simultaneously, leave comments, view (and revert to) previous versions

I came across a site that makes it easier to resize image files in patches (for example, changing 100 .png textures from 16x16 pixels to 64x64. Gotta re-find it...
[Edit: I'll probably use https://bulkresizephotos.com/en]

GitHub could be used for texture pack collabs. Relevant features include:
*the ability to assign labels to Tasks, including which collaborator is assigned to which task
*Project trackers with to-do, in-progress, and done columns for Tasks
*the ability to Fork from the Master branch and discuss proposed changes before merging them with the Master branch
*Milestone trackers with a % complete based on the number of Tasks to-do vs done

Somebody told me about the ability to load a Minecraft world type called Debug Mode, which sounds useful for checking that the textures for a ton of items look as intended.

Anything other tips?
