REQUIRES 1.20.2+ - This datapack uses Macros, which are not supported by versions up to 1.20.1.
Commands Per Tick: 1
CONURE'S WAYSTONES
Adds Waystones to the game, which are both craftable and naturally-generating! Does not require any resource packs! Here's a brief overview of how to use the datapack.
Step 1 - Combine a book with any Crystal in a crafting grid (quartz, amethyst shard, emerald, prismarine crystal, or diamond) to obtain a Waystone Atlas. This book will be your key to most of the features of this datapack.
WAYSTONE ATLAS - General Usage Guide
- Click active waystones with the atlas to log their locations. Once a waystone has been logged, you can find its data by repeatedly opening the atlas to cycle which log is selected. When you find the page for the waystone you'd like to travel to, click any other waystone with that page selected to warp there instantly!
- If you'd like to delete a log entry, select the page you want to delete, then look straight at the ground while sneaking and open the book.
Other Miscellaneous Info...
Waystones generate naturally in Villages and Ancient Cities, as well as in new structures added by the datapack.
All of the waystones you'll be using at first are most likely naturally generated, since crafting one requires a Lodestone (and therefore Netherite). Naturally-generated waystones start off broken, and to restore one, you can use any Crystal on it. Afterward, you're free to deactivate (punch) and re-activate (right-click) the restored waystone without having to pay any more crystals. When a waystone is deactivated, punch it again with a Netherite Pickaxe in order to mine it.
As you can see, obtaining waystones in your inventory by any means (either picking one up or crafting) requires you to have obtained Netherite. Before that, you'll only be able to use the waystones that generate naturally.
After you do manage to obtain one, you can rename it with an Anvil - once you place it down, this name will be what gets saved in your Atlas when you log the waystone!

1.20.3 Cosmetic Change : by Conure512 12/09/2023 3:29:28 pmDec 9th, 2023
Changed the teleporting animation to use new particles introduced in 1.20.3! Thanks to the Overlay system, the old functionality is still present and will take effect in 1.20.2 and earlier, so this pack should still be compatible with all datapack versions starting at version 18.

I didn't actually make a resource pack for this, but I did put custom model data on the items (just in case someone wanted to add their own custom textures). Custom model data SHOULD have no impact on the textures unless there's a resource pack made specifically for this, but it's also possible that unrelated packs might cause some issues.
