This is a Datapack which contains an overhauled Desert Pyramid (aka Desert Temple). The new design includes a redesigned pit trap that punishes veteran players, lots of hidden treasures and deadly traps.
NOW WITH 8 RANDOM TRAPS!!!
Using the jigsaw system, the pyramid can spawn with one of 4 varieties of pit trap. Check the Spoiler section to know what each one is, or better yet, explore the world and die gruesomely by the product of a cruel developer's twisted mind! I am now working on more randomly generated parts. The goal is for each pyramid to be unique and dangerous no matter how many you've explored!
INSTALLATION
For Single Player World/ LAN Server:
For Servers:
Turning left from the entrance, there is a spruce trapdoor. Crawl under it to enter the left tower. Under the stairs there is a barrel with common treasure. Up the stairs there is a passageway that leads through 2 other towers (one of which has a barrel with village junk) and into a fourth tower. down the stairs you will find a spruce trapdoor you can crawl under. Crawling through the tunnel will lead to a barrel on the other side of the temple, which contains good loot.
Turning right from the entrance, you will find an alcove with a barrel (containing common items) in it. Looking up and opening the spruce trapdoor on the ceiling will reveal hidden treasure (desert temple loot). on the rightmost part of the temple, there is another spruce trapdoor you can crawl under, though this tunnel will lead to a trapped chest that activates TNT, exploding the real treasure barrel that sits 2 blocks directly above it and spraying all of its valuable contents into a pool of lava hidden under the tower stairs.
Pit Traps!
The solution to one is the trigger to another!
Daylight Trap
If you break the floor near the center of the temple during the day, a daylight sensor will trigger 2 pairs of TNT. One of them will drop to the bottom of the pit, causing a chain reaction to explode the loot on the bottom. The other will stay put and try to explode on the player.
Barrel Trap
This one is apparently identical to the Daylight Trap, except for the skull that sits above one of the treasure barrels. On this variation of the pit trap, the pressure plate does not do anything, but opening the barrel with the skull above it will trigger a TNT explosion!
Disappointment Trap
A harmless trap designed to break the player's psyche with a seemingly terrible loot horde. If you break the floor at the bottom of the pit, however, 4 true loot barrels will be revealed!
Spiked Trap
Very self-explanatory. Just try not to get impaled...
Water Trap
Not lethal. Designed to deal psychic damage to the player.
Dead-end
Very self-explanatory. Just try not to get impaled...
Oasis Trap
I added lush, poisonous plants in the desert... to the floating trees game.
Lava Trap
Parkour to get the loot, or you can try to swim... and probably fail

INSTALLATION
For Single Player World/ LAN Server:
- Download the Tuco's Overhauled Desert Pyramid Datapack file.
- When you are creating your world, select "Datapack" option.
- Drag and drop the downloaded file into the folder.
- Go back to Minecraft and move the Datapack from the "Available" list to "Selected". Click "Done"...
- Create New World and use the /reload command...
For Servers:
- Download the Tuco's Overhauled Desert Pyramid Datapack file.
- Open the server folder and move the file to "your world"/datapack (if you don't have this folder for some reason, create it).
- Restart your server or type /reload on to your server console. You will be asked if you really want to apply this command. Answer "Yes".
- Tuco's Overhauled Desert Pyramid is intended for 1.17 and will not work properly on previous versions.
- This is a Datapack, which means it will theoretically work on servers even if the players don't have it installed on their clients.
- Sadly, it is not currently possible to overwrite the Vanilla Desert Pyramid (since it's older than the jigsaw system), which means those will still spawn along with the new ones (even more Temples to explore?), I now does. But still /locate will not help you find them.
- Mod at your own risk, and remember to backup before installing this Datapack into an existing world.
