With this datapack, you can have a battle against an epic powerful robot, and then have it as your cute companion!
P.E.T.E is a robot that was hacked, and it's your job to fix him! Follow these simple and deadly steps to get P.E.T.E back to working properly.
This datapack does not require Optifine, but has a few features that will glow if you have Optifine installed, so I would recommend it.
Finding the Instructions
Since you can't just make instructions, you'll have to find them. You'll come across them in loot chests in Mineshafts. You can right click the Instruction to hold it up your face like people do in those movies, and that's cool :D
Prepping with an EMP
Before you create P.E.T.E, you want to be prepared to disable him and get access to his wiring system to fix him. He's not just gonna sit there and wait for you to touch his control panel, of course. Make sure you have an EMP Charge! Once P.E.T.E has a low enough health, you'll be able to slap on the EMP Charge on his body to ZAP him and disable him for 30 seconds, which should be enough time to complete a little puzzle, unless you're colorblind. The crafting recipe for the EMP Charge is in the video and the image gallery.
Creating P.E.T.E
To make your very own hacked P.E.T.E, you can simply follow the instruction on the paper you got earlier from the mineshaft! Slap an Item frame on an iron block, put the instruction in the item frame, then place a lightning rod on top, and drop a redstone block. This'll immediately start up P.E.T.E and you'll quickly be in pain. But worry not, it'll only last a few minutes!
The Fight
P.E.T.E will charge at you at sight, and shoot lasers every once in a while. You can sneak to dodge the lasers, and that's the only way to avoid getting hit by those other than getting behind a block, because he has insane accuracy.
During the second phase (The first time he cracks from you dealing enough damage), P.E.T.E will begin striking himself with lightning whenever you get too close to him. He will stop and announce that he will strike himself with lightning (which I feel like it isn't a very good tactic because you can just run away from him when he does that), so when he does that, RUN AWAY! He will only do this during the second phase, so if you deal more damage to him and crack him more, he no longer will try to harness lightning. What a shame, I would've wanted to see him go fast enough and get struck with lightning to travel through time.
By the last phase, he will be severely damaged, so that is your chance to put the EMP Charge on him! You'll know that you'll be able to do that when he says "Critical damaged detected; Seek repair immediately". When you hit him with the EMP Charge, and epic animation will happen and he will be disabled for 30 seconds. When you press Shift + Right Click, you'll be greeted to P.E.T.E's Control Panel, where you'll have to rewire P.E.T.E's system. If you don't finish it on time, P.E.T.E will fix himself and he'll start attacking you again.
If you manage to complete the puzzle, P.E.T.E is fixed! Congrats! But you still destroyed him with your weapon, so go fix him.
Control Panel Features
Now that you've got him under control, it's time for you to use him! Once you fix him, he will drop an Access Card which you can use on P.E.T.E by hitting him with the card. you can then Shift + Right Click to once again check out the control panel, but this time with buttons instead of copper strings!
Info Button
This button simply tells you what P.E.T.E is meant to do.
Status Button
Tells you if P.E.T.E is in need of repairing.
Repair Button
Tells you how you can repair P.E.T.E.
Food Button
You can replace where the button is with 1 Raw Porkchop and he'll cook it for you and make it into Bacon!
