No Sleep, a simple data pack that tries to make Minecraft harder and more fun.
It does not lock the world difficulty; do that yourself if you want to.

I recommend also turning on the reducedDebugInfo game rule so you have to use actual navigation skills to get around.
(It's at the bottom of the game rule menu when you create a world.)

No Sleep makes a two big gameplay changes:

  • beds cannot be crafted, picked up, or traded for
  • beds do not skip the night (but can still set your spawn point)
These changes make Minecraft harder because:
  • you must actually wait out the night or risk encountering monsters
  • you can only set your spawn with village beds, so exploring outside villages is much riskier
It includes these secondary changes to compensate for the main ones:
  • beds drop logs when broken
  • bonus chests contain one bed
  • phantoms only spawn during new moons
  • shepherd villagers sell dye instead of beds
This pack has not been tested for versions before 1.19.3 but will definitely not work on versions before 1.19.

I might make one more update with a way to set your spawn point back to the world spawn point without destroying your bed.

Why use so many functions when you can just use /gamerule playerSleepingPercentage 101?

This data pack also completely removes the ability to obtain beds as an item, which means you can only set your spawn point in villages. This makes venturing out into the world more dangerous because you can't just set your spawn close to wherever you might die. It also changes phantom spawning to allow phantoms to spawn with no relation to sleep.

I also tried to remove obtaining beds in seamless ways that enhance gameplay. For example when you break a village bed you get 3 logs (you should get something of value from giving up something so precious as a way to set your spawn), and shepherd villagers sell dyes so that you can still get something from them (I'd argue the dye trades are actually more useful than the bed ones are in vanilla).
