Yandere (yan-der-ay) is from the Japanese words yanderu, meaning mentally ill or sick, and deredere, meaning lovesick. A yandere loves only one person, and will do anything for them to be theirs. Men and women can be yanderes, but it is mostly portrayed as females. They believe their love can do nothing wrong, and will kill anyone in their path. A common misconception is that their loves are called senpais. Senpai in Japanese are people who are older than you. 2 examples of yanderes are Ayano Aishi from the game yandere simulator, and yuno gasi from my future diary (an anime).
