So, I assume everyone reading this has gotten a chance to play with PMC's new skin previewer created by Paril. It's a big improvement over the previous previewer even if there are still some bugs to be ironed out. One thing I've noticed a lot of people complaining about, though, is that the new previewer is displaying the bottom of their skins' heads wrong. In this tutorial I will explain what is going on and how to fix it.
First, I'll clear up the biggest misconception about this: that it's a glitch. This new previewer does not display the bottom of the head incorrectly. In the 1.9 update, the character model texture got changed. The bottom of the head, hat, hand, foot and torso areas all got 'flipped' or reversed. Apparently they were supposed to be like this all along, and they were actually 'incorrect' up to that point. What that meant for skins is that a skin that showed up normally before this update now showed up with those areas reversed. PMC's new skin previewer uses the updated (current) character model, and correctly shows how the skin will be displayed in-game.

Alright, I know what you're thinking. If all this has changed, why isn't *insert skin-maker program here* showing the skin correctly? It might be hard to believe, but as far as I know every skin making program uses the out-dated character model except for MCSkin3D. What this means is, even if you create a skin that the program shows as correct, it will still be incorrect in-game.

I know some people with many skin uploads are starting to panic now...but there are easy ways to fix your skin. If you use MCSkin3D (or have been wanting to use it), the latest version (1.4 and beta versions) has a one-click fix for your skins:

This will flip the offending textures on your highlighted skin. The other way to fix your skins is to use a photo-editing program such as photoshop, Paint.net, GIMP, etc. and manually flip those areas of the skin. Personally, I think the MCSkin3D way is easiest, but these are both easy options that keep you from having to re-draw parts of your skin.

TLDR: Your skins are f**ked up courtesy of Mojang, you'll have to fix them

I hope this has helped you, and please help spread the word of this so that all of PMC's skins can eventually be updated!

So is it correct on pmc if it shows the bottom backwards?

No. PMC's previewer shows how it will look in-game. If it shows up backwards here, you need to fix it.

Ok, I use a skin creator that makes the bottom backwards.

Skinheads are always messed up... In fact, all Neo-Nazi groups are, according to the modern social standards, "messed up".
