Hello there ladies and gentlemen! Gray Remnant here! This week, I've got three more projects to show you that are truly exemplary.
This week, we saw a lot of impressive structures. I was torn between jar9’s epic Swamp Lake City, Desdruktiva’s beautiful pirate galleon, and Liping’s outstanding server hub. I just couldn’t decide which one of these I liked best. Thankfully, I didn’t have to decide, because yesterday I saw something truly extraordinary!
This week’s best structure was none other than Nuts and Bolts, made by Cephyr. At first glance, you might think that this is concept art. In fact, this is the build. Yes, it’s real, I kid you not. I’d like to personally thank Cephyr for making my decision this week so ridiculously easy.
It’s hard not to think of this as an utter, timeless masterpiece. It was made on the Cephyr server by, I’m guessing, 10 million people. Okay, that’s a bit of hyperbole, but it seems accurate considering the insane quality.
Basically, it’s a massive hyper-industrial factory made up of a giant luminous dome, surrounded by hulking machinery, futuristic industrial architecture, and suspension bridges. This all sits on what appears to be an ocean of toxic, molten waste. Nice!
This is one of those builds that was made for the express purpose of blowing people’s minds. Well, Cephyr, job well done. My mind has been blown right out of my head. If anybody happens to see it lying around somewhere, please let me know. I need it back.
The best terraforming of the week was Falcone Island, created by my good friend 7thbatalion. Last week, I picked something outside the box. This week, I picked something well inside the box. Inside the box is okay, as long as it’s executed well, and it should come as no surprise that this landscape was executed extremely well.
What we have here is a medium-scale, temperate island with peaks aplenty, sprinkled with some lovely custom pine trees. Not good enough for you? Did I forget to mention the half-sunken ship and the desolate ruins hidden in the bay on the island’s east side? Not only is this a joy to look at, but it’s interactive as well. Feel free to download the map and explore the ruins to your heart’s content.
Take all of this, and throw in a gorgeous render by jannekloeffler (who’s own island was narrowly edged out last week by Planet B-512) and you have the best terraforming of the week. If I got shipwrecked and all I had were a pair of skates and a ball named Wilson, this is where I’d like to spend my time.
This week, there were a lot of strong contenders for organic work. Ultimately, it came down to two builds: a beautiful shining ship flanked by giant butterflies, and a terrifying demon warlord. Sadly, the butterflies were all burned to death and eaten by said demon, so my choice was much easier.
The best organic work of the week was Demon Legion, created by N3xusMC. Not unlike Namtaru, Demon Legion is a terrifying work of art. I actually felt I needed to pick him for this review, out of fear that he might appear in my home and eat my soul. Once again, fear wins. Sorry butterflies, maybe next time.
In the world of organic 3D art here on PMC, scary things often take the cake. Today, the cake belongs to a giant purple demonic entity complete with horns, fangs, pointy ears, battle scarring, and burning red eyes. I hope he’s not on one of those gluten-free diets, otherwise whoever baked the cake is in deep trouble.
Oh, and did I forget to mention the glorious HD render supplied by N3xusMC himself? Yeah, thanks for that dude!
Thanks for checking out this blog! If you liked it, please consider tossing me a diamond, and don't forget to toss the creators of these projects a few diamonds as well!
If you want your project featured on this series, keep in mind that I select projects purely based on their quality. You can't bribe your way into this. Having said that, there are 3 prerequisites that a project must meet before I consider it for this review:
1 - Project must be posted within the week. Updates don't count.
2 - Project must be complete, or complete enough to be considered 'whole'.
3 - User must be at least level 10.
The reason I have these rules is to ensure that projects have an equal chance at getting on this review. I don't want repeat updates to give some projects an advantage over projects that are posted once, and never updated. I also don't want to deal with plagiarism (which I've dealt with 3 times, involving users under level 10). For reference, one of the projects I wanted to put on this review this week was removed by the mods. The user was level 6.
Thanks very much for the support! I'll see you guys next week!
