You're probably wondering what the heck this post is. Well I'll tell you. Somewhere along the line between minecraft alpha and minecraft 1.0.0 the game became really popular. I know right? Who knew? With popularity like that comes a seriously awesome community, and seriously awesome communities tend to be ENORMOUS! What I've found with communities is that everybody has a story to tell. I'd like to tell as many people's stories as possible.
How are you going to do that?
I was just getting to that. Through the power of poetry we will become united! Poems are short, simple, and tell stories effectively so that's why I'm going with that. Unfortunately I can't just have you make ANY poem now can I? I plan to mash all of the poems together into one big Uuber poem that we can all read and enjoy. Sounds pretty cool right? So I've decided to use a specific type of poem. A type that can easily deliver a story. The "I AM" poem. If any of you are in high school you've probably already done one of those. For those of you that aren't, this is what an "I AM" poem should look like:
I am SoarynTheEagle
I am from the darkest of depths.
Penning together stories for the rest to read.
Stories that will last for all the generations to come.
I am from the end of times,
where shadows dwell waiting to pounce on unfortunate souls.
Until a hero comes to share the light.
I am from PMC
writing a blog every day until my fingers hurt from typing.
Being criticized for everything and being forced to not care
for fear of being banned.
You can pretty much make any one of these poems go on for as long as you want. The only catch is that each stanza has to start with "I am from" and the first stanza has to start with "I am(Insert Name Here)" In this case you'll be putting your planet minecraft name in with this.
How to get it to you?
Simple. Just PM me with your poem and I'll add it to the project. Simple as that. If you want to make any revisions to your poem PM me again with the revised version of the poem and I'll delete the old one and replace it with the new.
When will this be finished?
I hope for it to be finished by next Wednesday (1/15/14). Instead of posting it in blog form completely I've decided that I shall post a blog thanking everyone that participated by name and then put the project into google docs and post a link. This is because I hope that there will be SO MANY PEOPLES with poems submitted that posted it in it's entirety would either crash PMC or not fit into the blog space :P
