Hello, and welcome to my tutorial on how to install mods and Texture packs :D
REQUIREMENTS-
PC: a unarchiver (Winrar 7zip Winzip etc.)
MAC: Nothing but default stuff :D
HOW TO - Install Mods,
PC:
1.Go To Start
2.Search ' %appdata% '
3.Click into Roaming
4.Click into .minecraft
5.Go to your bin folder (inside .minecraft)
6.Right click on your Minecraft.jar and choose "open with"
7.Then select your unarchiver, Winrar, winzip etc.
8.Now rename the original minacraft.jar ro something like "original.jar" or just plain delete it :/
9.rename you 'minecraft' folder to Minecraft.jar
10.So now that your Minecraft.jar is 'mod-able' you can install mods. So I'll do an example with Modloader
11.Extract the downloaded Modloader and go into the folder
12.Drag the .class files into your Minecraft.jar
So thats the basics of how to install mods on a PC, some mods are easier and some harder install.
But most mods have a installation guide in the forum thread.
MAC:
1.Go to home
2.Go into Library
3.Go into Application Support
4.Go to minecraft
5.Go to the Bin folder
6.Right-click on your minecraft.jar
7.Choose 'open with' then select archive utility
8.Then rename the original minecraft.jar to something like 'original.jar' or just plain delete it :/
9.So after that Rename your new minecraft folder to minecraft.jar
10.So now that your Minecraft is 'mod-able' I'll show you how to instal the mods, I'll explain with Modloader
11.Download Modloader (or any mod, But make sure you have all the other mods required to run that certain mod.)
12. unarchive it by double clicking the zip folder if it hasn't happened automatically
13.Drag all of the .class files into your minecraft.jar and your done :D
So thats how you do it :D
