BigDaddy Speaking The Truth: Rant Weekly




Hello, humanoid carbon units, and welcome to my rant column, where today I'll be talking about the Blogs section on Planet Minecraft and how it has (mostly) gone to the dogs. The Blogs section on Planet Minecraft is meant to be a place to write tutorials, articles, stories, and other things. Unfortunately, the aforementioned categories are usually plagued with blogs written in misspelled English, blogs that are in the wrong category or blogs that shouldn't be blogs at all and belong in the forums.

Many so called "bloggers" simply don't take the time to polish their work. They don't correct spelling errors, don't take the time to design cover art, instead using stock art or quickly slapping together an amateur design. The worst is when a meme is used as the cover. I have used the "Feel Like a Sir" meme in a blog cover page, but it was part of a larger design and was the correct aspect ratio. In order for a blog to look at least semi-professional, it needs to make a good first impression.



PLEASE! If you're going to write a blog, use good English, free of texting abbreviations and at LEAST checked with a decent spell checker. This is a very easy way to make your blogs look professional. Almost every word processor in existence has some form of spell check, I recommend Microsoft Word, available for both Mac and Windows. Too often do I see a blog titled "need help!!!!" or "why tekkit was created", which simply just invited discussion about Tekkit. In order to get views and diamonds, you have to make people want to click on your blogs. Do this by correcting spelling errors.



Questions or recruitments posted as blogs are another common misconception about the Blogs section. It's not the forums. If you have a question or need someone else's services, writing a blog is not the place to put it. Put it in the forums, it will avoid cluttering up the Blogs section with unnecessary posts. Top Skin of the Week
This week's Top Skin is quite an interesting one. We are reviewing about Tinman by OldEagle!



As you can see it has a very good style of shading and has an interesting structured body as well. Especially the use of "Hat" it makes the skin more "Realistic" and fun to look at. Having 1000+ views, 37 Diamonds and 70 downloads I would say it's an Outstanding skin that deserved its spot on the pop reel.

The Blog of the Week:



The Youtube Epidemic




This week, our featured blog is "The YouTube Epidemic" by Rsmovactor. The topic is lets-players who literally just record with fraps for 10 minutes and upload it. Rsmo argues that good videos require intelligent commentary thats both thought-out and insightful, in addition to editing and actual quality Minecraft playing. In the end, it all comes down to passion. Either you have that creative spark, or you don't. This blog is both original, and well-written, which is especially awesome when you realize it's this guy's first blog! At 36 diamonds and counting, this gem is definily worth a read. Check it out here.

Hello everyone, Skullduggerycain here writing a review for the PMC times. Today Io ll be reviewingMinecraft o Mirrors edge cinematic by Monkeyirl. So, without further ado, here is the review! (Hey, it rhymes!) Cinematics, Cinematics, Cinematics. Theyo re old, and by now all clichéd now, right? Weo ve seen them all, parodies to popular songs, spoofs on the walking dead and other popular TV shows and movies, Theyo re just a lost cause, right? WRONG! A user named Monkeyirl has made a new cinematic, which he calls o Mirroro s Edgeo . It depicts a human on top of a building, whom walks to the edges back and forth, as if he is very confused. He then suddenly decides to jump off the building. He then desperately grabs at a green building, holds on for a second, and then absent-mindedly decides to drop, the video ends mid-fall. The entire thing honestly leaves much to the imagination, but I didno t honestly think much of it. All in all, Io d give it 2 and a half stars.

Weekly Interview


This weeko s interview will be with the lovely x_cece_x . She is an up and coming member and is working hard to bring quality submissions; however, she I currently underrated and has had a hard time bringing her work to a larger audience. Without further adu, I will start the interview!







Question 1 : Tell us about yourself.

• I'm just a normal girl who loves minecraft and Planetminecraft <3 I looove making skins just for fun.
  

Question 2 : When did you start playing Minecraft?

• I started playing the "free" trial in beta 1.5, then I got the real Minecraft thingy on Christmas of 2012.
  

Question 3 : What/Who got you into Minecraft?

• My friend got me into it when I was watching her play, it looked like my kinda game <3
  

Question 4 : How long do you usually take to make your skins?

• Maybe about half an hour! It depends on how much effort or what I want on my skin sometimes.
  

Question 5 : Where does your inspiration come from?

• My inspriation comes from: Sugarbun, Minecraft_Cutie, Endercat, and kottonkandy8 :) (I really recommend these people for girl Minecraft players <3)
  

Question 6 : What are your hobbies?

• My hobbies are hanging out with my friends or writing stories >-<
  

Question 7 : What games do you like to play other than Minecraft?

• I loooovee Spore creature creator... and Mario (of course)
