For a very long time, when I first started playing Minecraft I had seen others using texture packs, I had tried installing a few at various times but somehow, failed at doing so.

When I started playing, (Alpha 1.1) there was no "Mods and texture packs" button/menu, not that I remember anyway. Eventually, when that button was introduced, again, I don't always remember it being there, so eventually I had enough of the default textures and decided I wanted a change. I searched up how to install a texture pack, I did it and was amazed, everything looked different, and in general, nicer!

After a long spree of changing texture packs and changing them every few minutes. I stumbled upon "High definition" texture packs, my jaw hit the desk. Again, I fiddled around and eventually installed one correctly, I noticed no real difference, except the nicer water. Which I loved.

Now its 1.1, I have an actual gaming PC that can run HD packs, and I have the water shader mod thing. Minecraft looks pretty again! Although, it doesn't fill me with the excitment that I felt when I loaded up my world with my first texture pack on. I have tried making a texture pack.... it didn't get far. Another project left in the dust.

Although the textures don't add anything par say to the game, they make it look alot nicer, and without them, I'm unsure if I would have made it this far into my Minecraft playing life span.

For the record, I think "realistic" packs look weird on MC, but thats my opinion.

I never went much into mods, but i may save that for another blog. kthnx.

The picture is MINE, I took the screen shot, in my world, edited it myself and such. ;)
