Hi guys,
Today I'm here to talk about something PMC really needs which WILL decrease any skin theft committed, and generally just save people time.

Ok so I've noticed a fair few skins just getting downloaded, changing an arm or leg, than getting reposted and claimed as their own. Now rather than the real creator tracking down the person, reporting them to a moderator and then waiting for the moderator to respond, I think PMC should add an option when posting skins to decide wether someone can edit your skin. I know the download button is there so people can change with it, but, incase you haven't noticed when viewing a skin, there's a big button that says:

CHANGE MY SKIN

If this option is added, than skin theft WILL be drastically reduced, due to the fact that the person has no way of replicating the skin, unless they physically create the skin themselves (which skin thieves usually can't do). So this will almost put a complete stop to any skin theft. What do you think? I think this option should be added immediately, but I dunno. Comment and let me know!

I don't quite get it... can't they just download the skin, saving it, and then edit it?

well, if they want to download it... then they could just press the download button, and that would give them an option to save it... I don't think I understand the concept too well, but I just had a brilliant idea... Instead of downloading, there's a "Wear this skin" button, and when you click that, it takes the file, sends it to your account at minecraft.net, and then attaches it to the spot where you insert the skin file. this way, you aren's able to save it, but you can still wear it

I think it will help a bit, because some of them won't know how to get around that. However, it's pretty easy to get a hold of a skin other ways.

I understand that. But surely there must be some way we can prevent people of getting it..

This is false, Miner Need Cool Shoes has a option where you can type in a players username and have there skin come up, and you can download it from there. All theyd have to is use that lovely and convenient 'change my skin' button, and then go to Miners Need Cool Shoes :/
