Hello there, HappyGalaxy2 here and I just wanted to share a little secret that I've been keeping to myself in all of my Minecraft server playing time. I have browsed through hundreds of different servers looking for all the wrong spawns and finally I can write this blog letting you know how NOT to build a server spawn. Let's begin.

As we all know, the server spawn makes the first impression of the entire server. If its ugly or just not finished, the players will most likely leave. First off I just wanted to say that I am NOTsaying the spawns here are horrible and that they should be banned forever. Some people like these spawns and that's fine with me, but the spawns listed here are spawns 80% of the community doesn't like.

The "Not Finished" Spawn:
This spawn is a must have on this list. I mean, who wants to log on to a server and see that the spawn is only half done?Definitely not me. It might be a good server but no one would know because they would log of as soon as they saw this horrifying spawn. This spawn shows laziness, boredom, and not caring how your server looks. As I said in the opening statement, this spawn is, most of the time, ugly. Usually there are blocks that have no business being there such as a coal block mixed in with emerald. It just doesn't fit. The only server that this spawn is acceptable is if it's on a Zombie Survival type of server where the zombies have torn down the spawn.

The Ugly Spawn:
This spawn will make you jump out of your boots in horror as it's the abomination of spawns. It has no symmetry, it's lazily built, basically just taking random blocks out of the creative menu and placing them in no pattern or fashion that relates to your server type, such as a wall of cobwebs for a skyblock server, it just doesn't make sense. This spawn also has most of the characteristics of the spawn mentioned before. It literally scares away new players looking for fun along with the server critics and Minecraft veterans. You better hope that no server critics come on or your server just might receive a ranking of 2/10 for laziness and lack of coordination.

The Quiz Spawn:
Finally we have the quiz spawn. This spawn spawns you in a room with usually two exits, one with the actual map and the door that leads to a quiz that lets unlock that actual map door. The quiz is filled with basic Minecraft server knowledge such as "Can you spam your friends server here?" or theinfamous "Can you beg and beg and beg some more for Admin/OP?". The rooms with the questions usually have 2-4 buttons with signs above that list possible answers, and if you hit the wrong button, you're getting dropped in lava forcing you to either log off or restart the quiz. The quizzes usually have 5-20 questions that any veteran player would know the answer to and is just wasting their time. The newer Minecraft players usually know some answers but not all causing them to become frustrated and log off. The easiest way to change this is to just have a sign that says "Type /rules for the know-how to what you can and cannot do here." That's all you have to do, as simple as just writing a sign instead of about 70.
