I wrote most of this a few days ago, and finished it off today.
I'm not entirely sure what I was trying to get at.
While such below may not be as good as my previous poems, I find it acceptable. Do you?
#Rushing Shoreside Day
You see,
Friend,
This is why we cannot be friends.
When we talk, when mountains fall--
We be FOR each other, but once those rotten things leave..
I run off along the pathways lining the ocean and you:
As a via to escape.
Being allergic to salt and sand and wind and water and salt and nostalgia and cold, cold icicles of the purest whitest gold,
You don't follow, I can't follow you.
I ponder the leftovers of a pizza meal;
That a week ago, we would have shared in bliss, and I'd have given some to my cat.
