I'm starting off with "Dawn PVP", a faction PVP server I found on the latest page.
Generally the servers that come from there are absoloute scum and this is no exception.
During a 20min or so stay on the server I took a multitude of screenshots showing the amount of admin abuse.
It advertised a "PURE FACTIONS EXPERIENCE" with all the usual cliches in server advertising, eye hurting banner, "24/7", "CRACKED" and everything written in all-caps with exclamation marks. So I foolishly decided to join the server and was met with a spawn that didn't look so bad. But it was tiny, and all around it was, well, desert. It was hard enough to get off the spawn, which was a chain-like thing that floated in the air.
What I noticed first was that every member of staff was a "Co-Owner", and all with coloured nicknames and @s in front of their names. So I went further exploring into the server and pointed out 2 grammar mistakes to the server owner (My name is Trusted23 in game by the way).

The Admins abuse. The server page is sinful. It's a cracked server, so you get all sorts of trolls and misfits that generally should not be on the server. The only thing I can give them credit for is their deluded sense of what is fun for their players and the way that their players eat that up. The donator packages are overpowered and should not exist, and the spawn is... Aesthetically pleasing but so small and hard to get off of that it might as well not exist. But, for only $5 you can buy donator and use /fly to get off.
Servers like this are a plague. I actually tried helping them out with constructive criticism, but I don't know why I even bothered as they took this as an insult rather than a boost.
But what I can not actually believe is that one of the staff members told me to "Ignore" the abuse and get on playing.
How can anyone ignore admins that fly around in creative mode, in full diamond armour and swords enchanted with level 1000 everything, that teleport you to random caves and kill you? I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty good at pvp, but these people gave me no chance.
The worst thing is that I did enjoy when I started playing. When it wasn't regularly punctuated with abuse and slander, I was having a good time. The starter kits were generous, but not overboard. The spawn looked good at a first glance and I was ready to start up my base again. And that, is the main appeal.
Rant over. Please, if you're going to make a factions server, recruit good staff members in a carefully selective application method, and do not do what these people did wrong.
How the could have improved:
- Carefully selected admins.
- Comprehensive, aesthetically pleasing spawn building with all the good faction server features (Shop, spawning area, portals, etc)
- A unique spin to the server. Don't just be another factions server like this one.
- Set out punishment system, they were missing a jail, and never kicked/temp banned anyone once, only muted.
I have nothing else to really say about this server, and others of it's kind.
