I apologize for the delay on this theory, as I was a bit busy with other matters at the time. But here it is as promised, an explanation behind the mechanics of Pokéballs. This will probably be a shorter theory, but who knows. But there's still a lot to cover, so let's hop right into it. So grab your Master Ball and get ready to capture the truth about the Pokéball.

Now, the first thing I'm going to clear up is how ethical the Pokéball is. To PETA's dismay, it's not as mentally harmful and abusive as the radical group against animal cruelty would have you believe. Sure, capturing a once wild animal and training it to fight its own kind may seem unethical, but the Pokémon don't seem to mind. Plus, they don't even sustain major injuries when fighting, just cuts and bruises. But let's go back to the Pokéball. Some Pokémon have been shown to be aware of their surroundings while inside Pokéball, but it never bothers them. In fact, walking around with the Pokémon in their Pokéballs actually makes them more friendly towards you. So don't feel bad about keeping your Pokémon inside these pocket-sized capsules, as it will definitely make your life easier. I don't suggest you try transporting Pokémon like Wailord or Groudon without it. However, we still need to figure out how such creatures can fit inside your Bag without taking up so much space. Oh well, that Bag would be able to carry anything.

If you've haven't read any of my other Pokémon theory blogs, I suggest you read them before continuing any further. Or I can just tell you what you need to know so I waste less time. I think most people will want me to choose the latter. I constantly emphasize how versatile and adaptable Pokémon DNA is. It can survive millions of years as a fossil and be used later to create a clone from it, even if it is just an eyelash. I swear, the scientists at Jurassic Park have nothing on the scientists in the Pokémon universe. I mean, creating a creature that can fight on equal terms with a god? That makes cloning a T-rex look like child's play. Amazing feats aside, these scientists have used their discoveries in the field of genetics to create some handy devices for Trainers, most namely, the Pokéball. If that much DNA can be compacted into one single eyelash, there has to be a way to replicate this on a more reasonable scale, like shrinking Pokémon down so they could fit these creatures in their pockets. But how does it really work?

The best comparison I can make for understanding purposes is the Ant-Man suit. If you are not informed on how the Ant-Man suit works, it shrinks the wearer by changing the distance between the atoms that composes them. This allows the Pokémon to fit comfortably in the sphere-shaped capsule. But the Pokéball was specifically designed to only target Pokémon, so it's not likely you'll be allowed to shrink yourself down in the upcoming games. Trust me, we're all a bit disappointed about that. Don't lie, you know you wanted a feature like that. However, the comparison to the Ant Man do not stop there, as it plays a vital role in explaining the Pokéball's use as a tool of capture.

You see, the Ant-Man suit decreases size, but not strength, as the wearer can still deliver quite a punch. I can only imagine that Pokémon who aren't in the mood to be captured will do anything to break free of the Pokéball, shattering the capsule to pieces. This explains why stronger Pokémon are harder to catch, as their sheer power breaks through Pokéballs like a twig. I can bet that as the grade of the Pokéball increases, so does the defense. Some can get oddly specific, like the Net Ball being great to capture Bug and Water types, but I can only imagine it targets their weaknesses to keep them inside. As for the Master Ball and why it's so rare, that may be attributed to what material they use to trap a Pokémon inside. It might be a rare metal that is almost invincible, like Vibranium in the Marvel Universe. Ok, I really need to stop making Marvel references. Plus, I can only imagine that Master Balls are not as cheap to produce as a regular Pokéball, so mass creation is not possible. Well, not unless you cheat, that is. But at least we can all agree that we are all thankful for the Pokéball.

Thank you all for being so patient with me and taking the time to read this blog. It really means a lot to me that you decided to click on this blog, as it's nice to see that people are interested in my work. I also want hear what you have to say and what theories you guys have. I've even started a forum post where I will answer small questions people have about the game, take polls on what theories I should answer in my next Pokémon theory blog, or talk about the Pokémon manga I'm working on called Pokémon: Lost Civilization, so feel free to check it out. But as always, I will see you in the next blog!

This is what I was thinking after reading paragraph four; "Well, in the new Pokemon trailers they are revealing quite a lot of new stuff, so it could happen... I hope!"

Yeah, but the chances are extremely low. The odd thing is that I don't think we have Gyms in Pokémon Sun or Moon.

No problem. I'd like to thank you for just taking the time to read it. I've also redone the poll on the forum where I have added a new theory option: N, the Zoroark.
