LOAC Chapter 5: Flight
A few minutes after takeoff, the seatbelts were allowed to be removed, and so Lily took great advantage of that. She immediately got out and sat on Ruby’s lap, with her head resting against Ruby’s chest. She was clearly exhausted from her experience with Daniel. “I’m so glad that daddy is gone.. because he scared me.. and it was painful…” She said.
I felt pity for her. “Poor Lily…” I thought. “She’s probably going to have a trauma from that.. and every time she presents those parts of her body to somebody, she’s going to be paranoid, and she’s going to be scared of it being painful again..” I thought. I looked at her. She was almost asleep. That’s pretty logical, considering that it all happened in the middle of the night.
I then looked at Ruby. “Where are we headed..?” I asked. She replied with: “We’re going to our second home, dear. It’s the old house of my royal family, the Alican family. It’s a very nice place and it’s located on a mountain. Not too far from the house is an old bunker, built by my predecessors in the 21’st century, so it’s a pretty old bunker! It’s still doing its job perfectly fine and because it’s such an outdated structure, it’s super hard to hack.”
“Ah, okay! Is the house connected to the bunker?” I asked. “No, but the house itself has its own bunker.” She replied.
“The bunker isn’t connected in any way with the other bunker?” I looked at Ruby in curiosity. “Not that I know of. She replied. “Did that bunker have any purpose at the time of its creation?” I looked very curious now. “It was a laboratory to experiment and create the fantasy races everyone would want.. and they managed to create one immortal creature, which eventually became their downfall. Now, the creature is locked up in a cell in that bunker.”
“That’s.. very interesting…” I said, intrigued and curious about that immortal creature. “I think.. I may go into that bunker sometime… is there a working power supply there?” I asked. Ruby shook her head. “Broken.” She stated. “Unless you want to use the extremely unreliable nuclear power source, which I won’t recommend because it is one, ancient, and second, not maintained for decades. You just have to stick with your night vision.” She said.
“What about Lily? She’s the main priority. If she isn’t safe I’m not going in there.” She smiled. “I will go in the bunker in the house with her. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to go there without problems.” I nod. “Good.” I smiled at Ruby, feeling happy with her. I looked out the window with a smile. I saw clouds above me, and mountains and valleys under me, it looked beautiful. “I wonder what’s it like at the mansion…” Ruby smiled. “You’ll love it. I grew up in that very mansion! I ordered a few of my most trusted servants to keep it in good condition, may I need to return there. So I expect it to be in a tip-top condition.” I smiled and started to use my internal systems to search for images- until Ruby stopped me. “Daurine, you’re not searching up for images of the mansion, are you?” I froze. “How do you know that?” She smiled in a motherly way. “Your expression turns numb and your eyes turn glassy when you use your internal systems, dear!” I smirked playfully. “Dang it, I might need to go back to Quinn to get updated.. I certainly don’t want people to know when I search things up…” Ruby laughed softly. “You can’t escape a mother’s instinct, no matter how advanced your technology may be.. a mother always knows when you lie, are truthful, have been naughty, or are doing things behind a mother’s back…” I sighed playfully. “Darn it..” Ruby laughed, and we both looked at each other with a smile. She then approached me and hugged me, and softly spoke in my cybernetic ear. “You know, I always had these kind of conversations with Ariana, but she died…”
“Ariana was your oldest daughter? The heiress of the Empress’s title?” She nodded. “She would’ve been an amazing woman.. she was only nineteen when she died… she was waiting outside a shop for Daniel to buy something..” She paused, her expression changing to sadness. “And then she got killed… a vehicle hit her and fled.. is what Daniel said… and..” She looked at me while breaking the hug. “A few days later… I got a message from the bank saying that a few billion dollars has been added to the account… and the sender of all the money was the cyborg company… and when I asked him about it.. he told me that the company sent the money as a.. condolences gift.. to Ariana’s death…” I stayed silent. “As a condolences gift? That’s.. bullsh_t. He probably sold her brain to the company.” I suddenly realized something. I looked at Ruby, and judging from the way she looked, it was clear as day she thought the same thing i was thinking. “He’s going to sell Lily’s brain!” She shouted angrily, waking Lily up. She immediately hugged her. “That monster.. that monster…” She angrily whispered.
“Mommy? What’s wrong?” Lily asked. Although she was ten, she had the innocence and mentality comparable to a six year old. She did have a rare condition that caused her mentality to be the same of someone four years younger than her. Ruby finally answered. “You remember Ariana, dear? Your big sister?” Lily nodded. “I remember Ari!” She said.
“Well, Daurine and I have found out that Daniel sold her brain. To the same company that made Daurine.” I looked at Lily, and she looked back at me. “Daniel wants to sell yours too.” I said. She looked clearly hurt by that. She probably couldn’t even imagine her father doing such things… “Daddy doesn’t care about me?” She asked, with tears in her eyes. I sighed and shook my head. “Indeed, honey. Daddy doesn’t care about you.” Ruby said. She then turned to me. I will give you new orders. If you see Daniel, shoot on sight. I want him imprisoned. He’s gone corrupt.” I nod. “I will happily follow those orders.” I said with a grin, looking forward to seeing him in pain. “I don’t kill him? But injure him to make it easier to restrain him and imprison him?” She nodded. “Exactly. Just make sure to keep him alive.” I answered with a simple: “‘Kay.” Lily then asked me: “Can I give daddy a big slap?” I looked surprised, and so did Ruby, who’d thought she’d want to slap him? She looked so innocent, and she wants it slap him! I smiled. “Sure, after I make sure he’s unable to hurt you, I’ll let you slap him.” I kneeled down to be level with her. “Make sure it’s painful, alright? I know the perfect place.” I smirked. “Ooh, what place?” Lily asked excitedly. “In between his legs, if you know what I mean..” She nodded enthusiastically. “I know that! It’s where his wiggly thingie is!” She exclaimed enthusiastically. I laughed, and so did Ruby. “His wiggly thingie, yeah! Right there!” Ruby said with a grin. “As hard as you can, dear!” She said, her grin getting wider. I shook my head in a playful way. “Teaching a ten year old how to punch a guy in his.. wiggly thingie… that is some serious dedication..” Ruby chuckled, while Lily got to playing with some dolls she took with her in the aircraft. “She’s gotta learn something about how to defend yourself against a guy.. and punching in wiggly thingies is a great example. And as a parent, he’s helping her be good at it, although he may not like it, and not even realize it!” She said, still smiling. I smiled as well. “The innocent little Lily, kicki-“
“I’m not little!” Lily suddenly interrupted me, looking offended, but in a playful way. I took this as a challenge, and stood up and stood in front of her. I towered above Lily. “Are you sure you’re not little, Lily?” I asked with a playful smirk. “I’m sure!” She said and then Ruby picked her up and tilted her above her head, he was now above me. “See? I’m bigger than you!” She laughed and started sticking her tongue out. I took smirked. “You’re still too little… you’re not big enough to escape tickling…”
Before she could even register, I was already tickling her. She burst out laughing and kept laughing and frantically giggling, and I loved it. I kept going, for a while and then stopped to let her catch her breath, and then the pilot gave us the news that we were about to enter heavy rain, wind and thunderstorms, so it is advised to take a seat and fasten the seatbelt. So, Ruby sat Lily down, in between her and me, and she fastened Lily’s seatbelt and then her own, while I had already done that and was now looking out the window, intrigued by the ginormous black, dark cloud with occasional light and thunder flashing out and through the cloud. I was curious about what it would look like inside the cloud. Of course, I searched it up on my internal systems, and it turned out these clouds are always there. They are some sort of natural phenomena in which an electrical dragon is rumored to fly and cause this type of thunderstorm. Now, an idea flicked in my mind. If I would enable my heat vision, i’d be able to see the dragon. And so I did, and I looked around, for as far and wide as the plane window would let me. Ruby noticed my fixation on the sky. “You’re looking for Ryhillian, aren’t you? The Electrical Dragon?” I responded with a simple “Mhm.”
“You know that you have better luck in the cockpit, right?” I nodded, and replied. “I know, but i’m not allowed to leave my seat.” I kept looking for the dragon. I looked for a while, and then asked Ruby: “Tell me about Ryhillian, please.” She smiled. “Of course dear! Ryhillian is one of the few still existing dragons, it is a electrical dragon, and always hides in a thunderstorm which the dragon created itself. Only a couple dozen people saw the dragon, and they said it was a majestic white dragon, with greenish dots on its scales. Although it seems like a very hostile creature, it has not killed anyone.” She paused. “I have yet to see the dragon, it seems like a beautiful creature to capture the sight of.” I stayed silent, listening and watching at the same time. “I also want to see it..” I muttered to myself. I kept looking, and looking. Then, a roar was heard. Lily looked up from her dolls, looking a little frightened. Ruby patted her hair and said: “Don’t worry, it’s just a peaceful dragon.” Then, i saw it. Or, her. The dragon, Ryhillian. With my heat vision. “I see her! She’s a mother dragon! There’s a baby dragon flying with her!” I said excitedly. Ruby and Lily looked at me. “A baby dragon?” They asked in sync. I nodded. “It’s a super cute little baby dragon! I’m guessing… about the size of a German Shepherd. Ryhillian herself is about the size of this aircraft.” I looked at the two, flying. The mother dragon, making slow, large flaps, while the small one was making rapid flaps. I took a few pictures with the program that captures whatever I see. “Oh! The baby dragon is a fire one! That means that there’s a father dragon who’s a fire dragon! That’s awesome!” I said with excitement. It’s amazing to see such graceful creatures flying. I sent the pictures to Ruby’s phone, and she looked at them. “Wow! They’re so cute together!” She said. “Mommy! I wanna see it too!” Lily said, and in response, Ruby smiled and showed her the pictures. Lily’s eyes widened. “So cute!” She exclaimed happily. Ruby smiled. “They sure are!” She said. The rest of the flight, we talked about the dragons, and we were so focused on chatting about the dragons, that we were oblivious to the aircraft getting out of the thunderstorm, and only when the pilot announced we were landing, we snapped out of it and all Lily and I looked at was the imposing sight of a mansion, which was located on top of a mountain. The mansion itself looked like a temple of a greek goddess, it had white pillars at the entrance and a white exterior. It looked amazing. Once the aircraft landed, we all got our belongings and stepped out. “Welcome to Villa Alican, Daurine and Lily!” Ruby said.
