If you spawn near a snowy taiga don't worry,all you find can help you,for example, i spawned in a taiga with more polar bears and drowneds,than i tried to tame a cat, the best pet for desert and snow,they give morning gifts.The first you need is build accessibility points to move fast, your next priority is find food, than try to build a protective structure, i use berries, they inflict damage,if you have a exit try to have exotic things in a chest or inventory,if you are in a village use the golem as protection and build structures to prevent massive assaults like polar bears and skeletons,to survive inside use the farms,raid outposts,and trade with all.







This is a example with farm ,hidden exit ,campfire and mine.But prepare! Illagers and zombies can break doors and enter,for extra security make two layers, hidden exits,don't care about design,you need to survive! Prepare to survive without recourses and use campfires,they are infinite and can process 4 at time,hunt only at day,exiting hide all except a weapon and a pickaxe in chests,don't exit, build of stone, thunder and phantoms don't attack you in a stone house.

The phantoms are useless without elytras,don't exit to kill them if you don't want to kill the dragon now.
