Ok boys and gir... boys for most of you that dreamed about getting op on that one server that you absolutely loved, heres a few pointers. For most server that aren't made overnight the server owners are usually more mature and very careful who they pick as staff. They usually look for people with the following attributes:


Maturity: One who doesnt caps in chat, nag about the dirt that he lost, complains that its boring, starts flaming wars. This is possibly the biggest one, but it doesnt matter if you're 6 just if you can behave in a more grownup way than that one troll that waits for you at spawn


Patience: Owners are usually busier than a freeway 10 at 5'o clock and you getting op isnt their first priority. Wait patiently and do something constructive in your time like build a mobarena or some public buildings that your server could use, become that one go-to guy when people are confused and lost with commands, and advertise the server but never on another server.


Trust: It is hard earned and easily lost, once you get op don't go crazy with the commands unless you dont mind getting de-oped. Trust takes time and sure it might take forever but show that guy/gal on the console that you can be trusted by talking and working with them to make the server better and youll be opped


Extra tips: pvp lovers, griefers,trolls, mod users usually have a harder time getting opped so drop those habits if you can.
