Hello people of PMC! Today I got a British U-boat used in WW2 (but not very succesfull). The K-Class were an realy unusual uboat, instead of diesel engines it had steam turbines, which required two oil fired boilers. These two turbines provided a great amount of power and speed on the surface, but they needed 5 minutes to stop the turbines and putting the fire out from the boilers before they could dive. When submerged, it used 4 electric motors, but cause of the turbines, boilers, all the oil and its great size, the boat was very heavy which made it very slow underwater. The K-Class boats were one of the bigger u-boats in WW2, but they were best known by all the accidents they had, navigation problems, multible fire and explotion accidents just to say a few.
This particular one i built is the K-22 (real one), but since i did not find any information or pics from the interior, i mostly had to improvise. As all my other projects, it dose have a full, realsitic and detailed interior, based on how i would think this looked like in real life. Lastly, some stats:
Real MC
Lenght: 103m 114b
Beam: 8m 11b
Draught: 6m 9b
