Johanneskirche (Saint John's Church) Is a large protestant church in the new town (Neustadt) Area of Gießen, Hesse, Germany. it is a large 19th century building in neo renaissance / Gothic style and was build in the year 1893.
It is one of three Main churches of Gießen the other being St. Pancras and St. Boniface.
With 72 meters the church was the tallest building in the whole city.
During the anglo american air raids on Gießen this building was luckily only lightly damaged (the roofs, and the spire were slightly damaged, and repaired afterwards)
Today the building is one of the last large intact representative pre war buildings in Gießen.
